SALINA – UMB Bank announced that Jim Ruble has joined the bank as senior vice president, senior commercial banker. In this role, he is responsible for commercial lending, new business development, customer service, treasury services and commercial banking solutions in north central and central Kansas.
Ruble brings to this position 31 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to UMB, he was employed with Bethany College in Lindsborg, as vice president of advancement. Before that he worked as a branch manager for the First Bank Kansas in McPherson. He has also held positions such as loan review and compliance officer, commercial and agricultural lending officer, and senior vice president of commercial and agricultural lending at First National Bank of Hutchinson.
“We are pleased to have someone of Jim’s caliber join UMB,” said Jon Starks, CEO of UMB Bank Salina. “He brings invaluable experience, integrity and expertise to this role.” Actively involved in the Hutchinson and McPherson communities, Ruble was a chairman of the Hutchinson Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors, president of the Hutchinson American Institute of Banking and a board member of the Hutchinson Optimist Club and the Retired Senior Volunteer program. He has also served as an instructor at Hutchinson Community College and was a graduate of the Leadership Hutchinson program. In McPherson, he was involved with the Chamber of Commerce, served as president of the Sunflower Chapter of the American Red Cross and was a graduate of the Leadership McPherson program.
Ruble has lived in Lindsborg for the past 20 years. He coached various youth sports teams and is active in his church.
Ruble graduated cum laude from Bethany College with a degree in economics and business.
