Mr. and Mrs. Larry Kopke

Mr. and Mrs. Larry Kopke will celebrate their 50th anniversary on Nov. 22 with a family dinner. Later they will celebrate with a travel group cruising the Blue Danube River and visiting the Christmas Markets of Europe. The couple has two daughters, Cheryl Reinert of Great Bend, and Merritt Kopke of Godfrey, Ill.; and one grandchild, Logan Reinert of Manhattan.
Marilyn Brown and Larry Kopke were united in marriage on Nov. 22, 1961 at the Methodist Church in Highland Park in Topeka. The couple met at Washburn University where Larry was attending Washburn Law School and Marilyn was attending Washburn University. After graduating from their respective colleges, they moved to Great Bend where they have lived since.  Larry practiced law for 14 years, and later joined Marilyn in operating Cheyenne Travel Agency/Please Go Away (tm) Vacations. The couple has owned the agency since Aug. 1, 1972.
