Roy and Kay Savage, of Great Bend, recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. Primary celebration of the event will be during the Thanksgiving holidays when they will join their children and grandchildrenfor a time of family fun in Estes Park, Colo.
The couple was married on Aug. 25, 1961 at College Heights Baptist Church in Plainview, Texas. They have lived in Great Bend since 1992. Savage is a retired pastor who has served, along with Kay, in pastoral ministry for over fifty years. He continues to preach regularly in area churches.
The Savages have three children: two sons, Dr. Cary Savage and wife, Rita, of Leawood and the Rev. Greg Savage and wife, Heidi, of Dodge City, and a daughter Krista Ball and husband, Mark, of Great Bend. They have 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Kay’s mother, Gayle Cargill, lives at River Bend Assisted Living, Great Bend.
