Happy Friday from the Great Bend Public Library.
As we make our way into spring, we will have a lighter programming schedule so that we can plan for the upcoming Summer Library Program (SLP). Before then, April 9 is the last day for Innovation Station, and April 13 is the last day for Story Time in the Children’s Department. In the meantime, we will be contacting schools to set up dates for Children’s SLP and getting the department ready for summer.
Today, Friday, March 30, bring the kids to the Children’s Department at 10:30 a.m. for Pre-School Story Time. The Tinkercad 3D Design Class is in the Dane G. Hansen Media Center at 3:30 p.m. Registration is required.
There are no events scheduled for Saturday, March 31.
The library will be closed for the holiday on Sunday, April 1.
On Monday, April 2, kids in grade 3 through grade 5 are invited to come and take part in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) activities during the Innovation Station at 4 p.m. in the Children’s Department. Crochet is in the Main Conference Room at 6 p.m. Please register if you wish to meet with an instructor.
Tuesday, April 3, we have Baby Bounce Story Time at 9:30 a.m. and Toddler Story Time at 10:30 a.m. in the Children’s Department. Teens who enjoy writing can join the Teen Writing Club in the Teen Spot at 4 p.m. For reminders and updates on the group, text @t33nwrite to 81010.
There are no events scheduled for Wednesday, April 4.
Thursday, April 5, Crochet will be in the Main Conference Room at 3 p.m. For teens with a sweet tooth, we’ll be making Candy Sushi in the Teen Spot at 4 p.m.
On Friday, April 6, Pre-School Story Time is at 10:30 a.m. in the Children’s Department. Come and enjoy the Adult’s Night Out Movie at 7 p.m. in the Lower-Level Meeting Room. The north doors will be open from 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.
Teen events are for teens in grade 6 through grade 12. Adult events are open to adults 18 and older.
For a one-on-one session related to Tech Help, 3D Printing, or Crochet, please set up an appointment. These sessions have a maximum time limit of one hour.
Are you looking for assistance in filing your taxes? The Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is using Great Bend Public Library as their outreach point to help individuals with their tax returns. Call (620) 792-1614 to set up an appointment. The last day for this is Thursday, April 5.
For more information on any of our events or to register for a program, please visit us online at greatbendpl.info, call us at (620) 792-2409, or come see us in person. Have a safe and happy holiday weekend.
