Members participate in 4-H Day

4-H Day gives members an opportunity to share their talents in public speaking, music and talent. Barton County 4-H Day is as important as the county fair for members exhibiting what they have learned.  
In the project talk division, the top two winners were Dalton Dicks, Busy Buzzers and Luke Wondra, Ellinwood Energizers. First alternate blue was Grace Hoskins, Ellinwood Energizers. Other participants in the project talks with blue ribbons were Ryan Niles, Jade Mountain, Zeb Hughes, and Jordan D. Mountain all from Ellinwood Energizers.
The Show and Share division is for younger members who would like to give a presentation and share what they have learned but not be as concerned with the formal guidelines. Parker Dicks, Busy Buzzers participated in the show and share division.
In Junior Demonstrations, Alexa Straub, Ellinwood Energizers and Audrey Likes, Great Bend City Slickers were the top blue winners. First alternate blue was Alaina Straub, Ellinwood Energizers. The other participant in the junior demonstrations with a blue ribbon placing was Johnelle Moshier, Hoisington Jets.
In the Senior Demonstration and Illustrated Talks division, Kirk Reisner, Hoisington Jets and Cody Wondra, Ellinwood Energizers received the top blue placings. Ryan Broeder, Eureka Homesteaders was 1st Alternate Blue. Hannah Mauler, Busy Buzzers; Nicole Likes, Great Bend City Slickers; Shaini Hughes, Ellinwood Energizers; and Kayleigh Bitter, Hoisington Jets; received blue ribbons. Jordan L. Mountain, Ellinwood Energizers received a red ribbon.  
In Public Speaking, Brice Kaiser and Payton Mauler, Busy Buzzers received top blue.    
In Extemporaneous speaking, Bonny Boultinghouse, TLC Twisters, and Hannah Mauler, Busy Buzzers received top blues. Kyle Blakeslee, Ellinwood Energizers, received 1st alternate blue ribbon. Payton Mauler, Busy Buzzers and Desmond Noah, Hoisington Jets, both received red ribbons.
In the music performance room, Jade Mountain, Ellinwood Energizers received the top blue rating in piano solo. First alternate blue was Jordan Mountain, Ellinwood Energizers. Other piano solos with blue ribbon ratings were presented by BreAnn Anshutz, BrayLynn Anshutz, Busy Buzzers; and Isaac Mountain, Caylee Rowan, Sarah Hammeke, Ryan Niles and Cade Rowan, Ellinwood Energizers; receiving red ribbons were Augustus Corbett, Lily Hoskins, and Grace Hoskins from Ellinwood Energizers; Kylie Broeder, Eureka Homesteaders and Aubrey Snapp, Busy Buzzers.
Bonny Boultinghouse, TLC Twisters, received top blue in vocal solo, with Katherine Snapp, Busy Buzzers receiving a red.
Katherine and Aubrey Snapp, Busy Buzzers received top blue on their vocal ensemble.
Anna Frizell from the TLC Twisters was the top blue rating with her instrumental solo. Ryan Niles, Ellinwood Energizers; Nicholas Long, Hoisington Jets; Cal Kaiser, Busy Buzzers and Robert Frizell, TLC Twisters, all received blues. Instrumental solos receiving red were Woodson Corbett, Ellinwood Energizers and Brinttain Noah, and Kirk Reisner, Hoisington Jets.
An instrumental ensemble presented by members from Hoisington Jets and Eureka Homesteaders received a red.
In the talent division Lily Hoskins, Ellinwood Energizers received top blue on her junior reading, with Emma Reif, South Bend Jolly Workers receiving 1st Alternate Blue. Receiving blue ribbons were Caden Rowan, and Zeb Hughes, Ellinwood Energizers.
In the senior reading division, top blue placing went to Shiani Hughes, Ellinwood Energizers. First alternate blue went to Kylie Broeder, Eureka Homesteaders. Mikey Hughes, Ellinwood Energizers received a blue and Tiffany Schneider, Hoisington Jets received a red.
The novelty or stunt division is a diverse display of creative talent. Ellinwood Energizers 4-H Club received top blue with a chime band and Emma & Tyler Reif from South Bend Jolly Workers, received 1st Alternate Blue. Hoisington Jets 4-H Club and South Bend Jolly Workers Club both received blues.
South Bend Jolly Workers members received a Top Blue on their skit and Hoisington Jets Small Group received 1st Alternate Blue. Busy Buzzers Club received a blue.
In the other dance category, Bonny Boultinghouse, TLC Twisters received Top Blue on her dance. Allyson Kaiser, Busy Buzzers; was first alternate blue. Hoisington Jets Club dance received a red.
4-H Day is a very important event because of the skills the members learn and they are willing to share with the public. Members often share their talent and talks with civic and community organizations.
