Greetings from the Great Bend Public Library! Join us this evening (May 7) at 6 p.m. for our next installment of Delicious Dishes with Chef Lisa. This time, she will be teaching us to add a little zest to a beloved classic with gourmet grilled cheese sandwich recipes. If you’re half the fan of fancy cheese that I am, trust me, you won’t want to miss this one!
On Friday we are hosting the next session of our Tabletop Teens D&D Miniseries. Last time our adventurers questioned the townsfolk and got into a scuffle with a shady blacksmith. Will they be victorious, or will they become the next victims? Our table is full, but any teens are welcome to watch the mystery unfold during our spring campaign (no registration required for audience members). Check it out from 3:45 to 7:15 p.m.
Looking to add some variety to your plant collection or need a Mother’s Day gift? Bring in your healthy houseplants and clippings to trade with each other during our annual Plant Swap Party this coming Saturday, May 9, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Be sure to wish that special lady in your life a Happy Mother’s Day this Sunday!
Tuesday will be Tech Tuesday as always at 11 a.m. In the evening from 5:30-7 p.m. we have this month’s Writing Club meeting. Adult Services Librarian and Writing Club Co-Leader Erin breaks down traditions, tropes, and expectations of science fiction writing.
Last but not least, it’s hammer time at Adult Craft Night next Thursday, May 14, at 6 p.m! As usual, we will still provide the craft supplies, but this month’s activity comes with a twist: We are asking participants to bring their own hammers. That’s right, folks, this is a B.Y.O.H. event! These tools will be used to pound flowers to transfer and preserve their beautiful colors and designs on fabric.
