What’s your story?
Foundational thoughts

May is a season that brings both celebration and reflection to our communities. Across the region, we gather to honor the accomplishments of graduating seniors, young people stepping into new chapters filled with possibility. At the same time, many of us pause to remember loved ones whose influence continues to shape our lives.

These moments invite an important question: What’s your story?

Each of us plays a role in shaping the community we call home. Sometimes that impact is simple, a kind gesture, a helping hand, a moment of encouragement. Other times, it’s lasting and far-reaching, like supporting a cause or creating opportunities that will benefit others for years to come. Together, these actions define the character of our community and influence how it is experienced by those who live here and those just passing through.

It’s easy, in the rhythm of daily life, to overlook the challenges others may be facing. For some, those burdens are significant, with barriers that can feel overwhelming. Too often, uncertainty about how to help keeps us from getting involved. But a lack of answers shouldn’t lead to a lack of action.

Our community is filled with organizations, churches, and groups committed to making a difference. They offer meaningful ways to give whether through your time, your talents, or your resources. By engaging in this work, we not only support those in need but also help build a stronger, more connected community.

As this year’s graduates move forward and we reflect on the legacies that have guided us, it’s worth asking: What story are you helping to write?
