The Jordaan Foundation, Inc. announces the 2026 Jordaan Scholars: David Colglazier, the son of Mark Colglazier and Jenny Colglazier; Abby Hands, the daughter of Tracy Hands and Jana Hands; Mason Miller, the son of Lynn Miller and Jessie Miller; Erin Stuchlik, the daughter of Karisa Meckfessel; and Elijah Webster, the son of Ryan Webster and Rachel Webster.
For over 50 years, the Jordaan Scholarships have been awarded to students graduating from the high schools located only in Pawnee County. Each scholarship provides $16,000, payable $4,000 per year during the student’s undergraduate or graduate college or university career for four years, upon the condition that scholastic eligibility continues to be maintained. The Board voted last year to increase the award amount, which had been $3,000 per year previously.
The Alternates to receive the awards for this year or succeeding years, if any of the five winners become ineligible are, in order of their ranking: Keirstin Pinkston, the daughter of Jason Pinkston and Elizabeth Pinkston; Leah Pinkston, the daughter of Jason Pinkston and Elizabeth Pinkston; Kaylea Pelton, the daughter of Burke Pelton and Kelcee Pelton; Grady Pinkston, the son of Jason Pinkston and Elizabeth Pinkston; and Callie Amspacker, the daughter of Troy Amspacker and Lana Amspacker.
Scholarships were awarded following recommendations of the Screening Committee who reviewed applications from Pawnee County residents who are graduates this spring of the two Pawnee County high schools. Scholarships were awarded on a combination of scholastic record, character references and recommendations, with college potential as measured by College Admission Tests and other criteria.
The Screening Committee is composed of representatives from each of the two high schools in Pawnee County and others appointed by the Jordaan Board. The Screening Committee reviewed all of the applications in detail.
The scholarships are restricted to Pawnee County students attending Kansas colleges or universities as provided in the Last Will and Testament of Dr. John Jordaan, former Larned resident. The Foundation Trust, created by Dr. Jordaan, was limited to civic, educational, charitable and benevolent purposes within Pawnee County.
The Bach Scholarship Foundation announces the 2026 Bach Scholarship recipients are Graycyn Brackbill, the son of David Brackbill and Mandy Brackbill; Logan Enabnit, the son of Brandon Enabnit and Lorelee Enabnit; Caleb McDonald, the son of Jeremy McDonald and Elizabeth McDonald; Grady Pinkston, the son of Jason Pinkston and Elizabeth Pinkston; James Seeman, the son of Dale Seeman and Audra Seeman; and Addison Townsend, the daughter of Tyson Steffen and Chelsea Steffen.
These scholarships were awarded following recommendations from the members of the Bach Scholarship Foundation who reviewed the applications from Pawnee County students graduating this spring from the two Pawnee County high schools, as well as any applicants from 2025 recipients, who may apply for a second year. Following the wishes of Roy Peter Bach and the guidelines as set forth in the application, the applicants must be accepted into an accredited four-year university, two-year junior college, vocational college or vocational training program. Preference will be given to vocational fields of study, including agricultural, automotive and diesel mechanics, electrical, health fields, etc. Scholarships are renewable for the second additional year, if recipient reapplies and is selected a second time.
The Cliff and Nina Fell Foundation and Trust announces its 2026 scholarship recipients. They are: Callie Amspacker, the daughter of Troy Amspacker and Lana Amspacker; Emma Corman, the daughter of Kyle Corman and Holly Corman; Mia Munden, the daughter of Rob Munden and Julie Munden; Gillian Smith, the daughter of Joshua Smith and Stacy and Bob Rein.
Scholarships are awarded by a screening committee and are based on a combination of academic records and references. College admission test scores are an important factor also.
The scholarships were created by Cliff and Nina Fell as part of their estate planning. The foundation came into being at the death of Nina Fell in 1994 and since that time has been giving scholarships to Pawnee County high school seniors. Each recipient for 2026 receives a $2,500, non-renewable scholarship.
