The 500th Quilt of Valor awarded by Golden Plains Quilts of Valor was awarded to United States Army veteran Lee Musil on September 28 at the American Legion Post 180 in Great Bend. Golden Plains Quilts of Valor Group Leader Amy Schartz Mellor and members of the group awarded 11 Quilts of Valor to local veterans on September 28, 2018, at the American Legion Post 180 in Great Bend. During this presentation, the 500th Quilt of Valor that the group has made was awarded. That quilt went to United States Army veteran Lee Musil, who was chosen by the “luck of the draw.”
