KANSAS CITY – Parents looking for a fun, inexpensive way for their children, ages 8-12, to make new friends, learn new skills, and experience an authentic summer camp need to call The Salvation Army of Kansas and Western Missouri Extension Department to register for summer camp soon.
The Service Extension Camp runs Tuesday, June 26 through Friday, June 29 this summer and features a wealth of activities including nature hikes, arts and crafts, and Bible classes. The camp is reserved for children who live in counties without a local Salvation Army Community Corps center.
“We think this is a great opportunity for children to meet new people and experience a rite of summer, the sleepover camp,” Director of Youth Services Lieutenant Michael Hanton said. “Three Trails Camp is a great place where the kids who come get to be kids, with plenty to do and see.”
Along with the elective classes, all campers get a chance to cool off in the pool, climb the rock wall, and check out the countless other activities Three Trails Camp offers.
Registration is only $20 per child, and financial assistance is available to those who qualify. The deadline to apply is May 11. To register call Teresa at 816-756-1455, ext. 368.
