This Sunday, Aug. 11, is the last day that the Great Bend Wetlands Waterpark will be open to the public. Hours of operation are 12:30-5:30 p.m. daily, weather permitting, with the final Family Swim Nights this Tuesday and Thursday from 7-9 p.m.

The following Saturday, Aug. 17, the Wetlands will host Bark at the Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bark at the Park is a fun event where pet owners can bring their family dogs to come and enjoy the pool, but the humans can leave their swimsuits at home.

The chlorine will be “turned down,” which makes it safer for canine swimmers but less safe for human swimmers. Therefore, humans will only be allowed to enter the water up to waist high. The concession stand will be closed.

After the dog event, the pool is drained and cleaned.
