The Barton County Historical Museum and Village will conduct an orientation meeting at 1 p.m. Thursday at the village, located south of the river bridge on U.S. 281. The meeting is for anyone in Barton County who seeks information about volunteer service at the museum, said Karen Naylor, volunteer coordinator.

Volunteers, new or returning, will become acquainted with life at the Village, including events and new displays at the museum. There will be a short orientation and refreshments will be provided.

Persons may attend without obligation, even if they just want to learn more about the museum, Naylor said. For more information call Naylor at 620-793-6394 or the Historical Village Office, 793-5125.

The Museum and Village will change to extended summer hours beginning Tuesday, April 12, and continuing through Nov. 6. Hours will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, and 1-5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The Village is closed on Mondays.
