Barton County law enforcement agencies presented with checks

Friday morning, organizers and hosts of the Barton County Law Enforcement Appreciation Barbecue, held July 25 at Kansas Trophy Experience in Great Bend, came to the Barton County Sheriff’s Office to present checks to area law enforcement agencies. Both checks presented were remaining proceeds from the July 25 barbecue event, according to organizer Jennifer Dixon. The first check, for $500, was given to the Great Bend Police Department to go toward the purchase of a new K-9 bite suit. The second check, for $5,000 was given to the Kansas Fraternal Order of Police Chapter 23, which covers all Barton County law enforcement agencies.
