The theatre department at Barton Community College will hold its last performance of the school year, the Thespian Showcase, at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 6 in the Fine Arts Auditorium.
Barton theater students will perform monologues, scenes, musical theater, improvisation and original work. Barton Theater Director Erin Renard will hand out year-end acting and technical awards. Admission is free and refreshments will be provided at a reception following the performances and ceremony.
“The Thespian Showcase is an integral part of our two-year theatre program,” Renard said. “It allows for student creativity, leadership, nurturing of talent and provides an alternative atmosphere for performance. The showcase is also part of our year-end Barton Theater Award Ceremony where theater students are recognized for their excellence in stage and technical work during the academic year.”
