Barton Community College’s Shafer Art Gallery and the St. Justa Pottery Guild, a Barton student club, will host a ceramic workshop presented by professional artists Mark and Bambi Freeman from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 in the Barton ceramics studio in the technical building, room T-151.
The Freemans are both former Barton students who are now studio artists and will demonstrate basic to advanced throwing techniques from 10 a.m. to noon. There will be a lunch break from noon to 1 p.m., but attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch and eat while the Freemans present a slideshow and discuss their lives as studio artists and the building of their home ceramic studio.  The workshop will resume with demonstrations on assembling, altering and decorating thrown forms.
