The Barton County Historical Society will host a Zoom presentation by Deena Hill of Utah on her ancestor Nelson Holder Ritchie at 7 p.m. Monday, March 28. This program is part of the 150th anniversary celebration of Great Bend, as Ritchie was one of the early entrepreneurs of Barton County. Richie, who was Hill’s ancestor, owned and operated several businesses in Great Bend during the early days. Hill has done research on his life and legacy. and has also compiled a book of her research on this early Great Bend pioneer which is available for purchase in the BCHS bookstore.
Doors open at 6:45 p.m. for the program, with light refreshments to follow. Admission for the program is $4 or free for BCHS members.
