One suspect is in custody and the Barton County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a second suspect following a drug bust Wednesday afternoon at 7 NE 30 Road, just north of Great Bend.

Sheriff Brian Bellendir said the BCSO executed a search warrant at that address at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

“Deputies had a warrant to search for controlled substances and drug paraphernalia,” Bellendir stated in a news release. They arrested Kortnie Nowak, 26, of Russell, but are looking for Dustin Sullivan, a Great Bend man who was not at the location of the search warrant at the time.

Sullivan is a 46-year-old white male who is 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighs 185 pounds, and has blue eyes and brown hair. Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Sullivan is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 620-792-1300 or the toll-free number, 888-305-1300. Citizens may also call 911.

“Sheriff’s deputies gained entry to the residence without incident and located two adults at the scene,” Bellendir reported.” They located suspected methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, as well as packaging materials.

Nowak was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and booked into the Barton County Jail. She also had two outstanding warrants from Russell County. Bellendir said she is being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond on the Barton County charges and no bond on the Russell County charges.
