Biker hit by car in Stafford Co.

A Great Bend man was injured Tuesday when the bicycle he was riding was hit by a car in Stafford County, Stafford County Sheriff Robert Murrow reports.

At approximately 5:12 p.m., the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office and Stafford County EMS were dispatched to the 1500 block of NW 80th Avenue. A 2007 Ford Focus driven by Amber Lloyd of Great Bend was northbound on NW 80th Avenue when it struck a bicycle carrying Brandon Steinert of Great Bend, who was also traveling north.

Steinert was transported to the University of Kansas Health System Great Bend Campus by Stafford County EMS for injuries sustained from the accident. Steinert was later transported to a Wichita hospital. The accident is still under investigation at this time.

Steinert posted information on his Facebook page which indicated his injuries, while serious, were not life-threatening.
