Both commission, council to stream meetings

The Barton County Commission and the Great Bend City Council both meet Monday, and both plan virtual meetings due to COVID-19 public gathering restrictions.

The commission will meet at 9 a.m. Monday at the Barton County Courthouse, 1400 Main in Great Bend. But the meeting will not be open to the public except via live-streaming. It will be streamed through Microsoft Teams. Citizens may view the meeting through their own sign-in or by signing in anonymously.

The agenda includes extending the declaration of a state of local public health emergency due to COVID-19, Kansas Department of Transportation emergency funding for flood-damaged intersections and a the Economic Development Revolving Loan Fund.

The council will meet at 6:30 p.m. The following procedures will be followed in conducting public meetings.

The agenda includes Events Center remodeling bids, the Great Bend Public Library memorandum of understanding and a Community Development Block Grant application from Mayberry’s Inc. (Walnut Bowl).
