Ducks Unlimited is accepting reservations for a “Bring Back the Bottoms” tribute to be held Aug. 15 at Camp Aldrich Claflin in Barton County. Participation at this limited-seating sponsor tribute will help support the renovation of some of the best migration habitat on the continent, said Becky Mahlum with Ducks Unlimited.
Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks, and Tourism is renovating the Cheyenne Bottoms Wildlife Area, and Ducks Unlimited has launched a major campaign to support this large effort. Major donor, sponsor and youth options are available to leave a legacy for this historic wetland. Tickets may be ordered online at https://www.ducks.org/kansas/events/58036/bring-back-the-bottoms-tribute.
“This is not your standard DU dinner,” Mahlum said. “Don’t miss the summer social, starting at 5 p.m. Meet other supporters of the Bottoms from across the country with cold drinks, warm hors d’oeuvres, and the drawing of our pre-event gun raffle. A prime rib dinner will be followed by the recognition of our major supporters and brief presentations of the plans for the face lift of the Cheyenne Bottoms Wildlife Area.”
A live auction allow participants to bid on high-end hunts, exciting excursions, custom firearms and historical Bottoms artifacts.
