Monday afternoon, children ages 6-12 beat the heat at Lincoln Elementary School, where they learned the art of shading and line as they created their version of a tall and colorful ostritch. It was the first project in a four-day class offered through the Great Bend Rec called Cartooning and Crafting. After they completed their drawings, students went back and colored in their designs with water color paint, and were encouraged to sign their work. The class is one of many offered throught the Great Bend Rec, happening all over the city in each of the elementary schools and at the Rec and Activity Center.
