This week’s Chamber of Commerce Coffee will be hosted by the Great Bend Tribune, 2012 Forest Avenue, at 9:30 a.m., Thursday. Host will be Shawn Panzer with greeters Sarah Adams and Amanda Hockerott. As the local news and multi-media leader, the Great Bend Tribune informs the community about matters of importance and interest. Featuring a blend of print, social media and digital products, the Tribune will be introducing its latest community project. Coffee, refreshments and door prizes will be available.

KGS kicks off Safe Digging Month with tree giveaway

April typically marks the start of the spring planting season, home improvement projects and large-scale excavations. It’s also National Safe Digging Month, and Kansas Gas Service is reminding residents to contact 811 before any digging project – big or small. To celebrate those who commit to safe digging practices by taking the pledge, participants will have a chance to win a free tree.
