The Barton County Commission will hold a special meeting at 9 a.m. Thursday to consider a resolution allowing the discharge of fireworks from June 27 through July 4 of each year. This would cover only the unincorporated areas of the county, not within any incorporated city limits.

The period coincides with the sale period of fireworks in Barton County, according to the agenda. Specifically stated is that no fireworks shall be discharged in Barton County if a burn ban is in effect.
