Commission talks face masks, GB Council meets without public

Both the Barton County Commission and the Great Bend City Council meet Monday. 

The commission will meet at 9 a.m. Monday at the Barton County Courthouse, 1400 Main in Great Bend. The meeting will be open to the public but will also be streamed live due to COVID-19.

It will be live-streamed through Microsoft Teams. Citizens may view the meeting through their own sign-in or by signing in anonymously.

The agenda includes a resolution rescinding a previous resolution that repealed provisions of Kansas executive order about the use of face masks in public and the Placement of stop signs at the intersection of NE 40 Road and NE 10 Avenue in Great Bend Township.

The Great Bend City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, at City Hall, 1209 Williams St., but the meeting will be closed to the public.

The agenda includes a memorandum of understanding with the Office of the Kansas State Fire Marshal, an economic development update and a request for an electrical easement for Dry Lake Brewery.
