Commission talks recycling, council discusses water, sewer rates

The Barton County Commission and the Great Bend City Council both meet Monday, and both plan virtual meetings due to COVID-19 public gathering restrictions.

The commission will meet at 9 a.m. Monday at the Barton County Courthouse, 1400 Main in Great Bend. The meeting will be open to the public but will also be streamed live due to COVID-19.

It will be live-streamed through Microsoft Teams. Citizens may view the meeting through their own sign-in or by signing in anonymously.

The agenda includes awarding the local solid waste recycling grant and the purchase of a pharmacy/laboratory refrigerator for the Health Department.

The council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, at City Hall, 1209 Williams St., but the meeting will be closed to the public.

The agenda includes approval of the 2021 city budget, a baseball field lighting change order. and water and sewer rates.
