The City of Great Bend’s compost site located at 97 SW 5th Avenue will be closed for three days, Nov. 10-12, while work is being done on railway tracks at Railroad Ave. and SW 5th Avenue, according to Christina Hayes, Convention and Visitors Bureau Director and community coordinator.

The site will be closed in an effort to limit traffic while the railroad and Barton County Road and Bridge are working on the tracks next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

“We apologize for any inconvenience and we thank you for your patience while they work to make improvements to the road,” a city news release stated.
