Council plans unsafe structure hearing; Commission to mark Crime Victims’ Week

The Great Bend City Council will meet Monday night and the Barton County Commission will meet Wednesday morning, and both plan virtual meetings due to COVID-19 public gathering restrictions.

The Great Bend City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, at City Hall, 1209 Williams. One can also view the meetings on Access TV via Cox Cable Channel 20 or live online at www.facebook.com/gbcitycouncil/. The meeting will be recorded.  

The agenda includes:

• A public hearing for an unsafe and dangerous property at 205 Frey.

• An ordinance granting a temporary premises extension for Dry Lake Brewing to allow them to utilize the parking lot behind the brewery for its one-year anniversary May 14 and serve alcohol on public property.

• An ordinance regulating the operation and parking of bicycles and micro-mobility devices.

• A rezoning request for Todd Anspaugh at 6003 10th St.

• A rezoning request for David Tabrizi at 1801 Patton Rd.

• A rezoning request for Carole Harris at 1809 at Patton Rd.

• A rezoning request for Keller Real Estate at 1815 at Patton Rd.

• A funding request from RSVP/VIA Director Linn Hogg for the Medical Transportation Program.

• Cinco De Mayo permissions.

• The expansion of Great Bend Alive Plaza on Forest Street.

• An Events Center billboard update.

• Bid approval for the the mill and overlay of approximately 13 blocks of Broadway between Polk and Morton streets, as well as

the reconstruction of the intersection at 19th and Harrison.


County Commission

The commission will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Barton County Courthouse, 1400 Main in Great Bend. The meeting will be open to the public but will also be streamed live due to COVID-19.

It will be streamed through Microsoft Teams. Citizens may view the meeting through their own sign-in or by signing in anonymously.
