Credit card scams fail

A rural Barton County man contacted the Barton County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday to report an attempted fraud. He said he received a text that his Visa account had been “locked.” He was given a number to call and was asked for secure information, which he did not provide. He also called his financial institution and was told nothing was wrong with his card.
Another resident called BCSO on Sunday to report receiving a phone call from an individual who attempted to get his credit card info.
