Live Like Jesus Today Ministries will open a warming shelter at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23, in the Anchor Room at the Central Kansas Dream Center. The Dream Center is at 2100 Broadway Ave., the corner of Broadway and Williams Street, and the Anchor Room is located on the east side off of Williams.

Volunteers need the community’s help with:

• food, such as soups, snacks, breakfast and dinner casseroles and sandwiches

• supplies, including paper bowls and plates, plastic silverware, napkins and cups

• drinks: water, juices, coffee, hot chocolate, etc.

A call for donations on the Central Kansas Dream Center’s Facebook page adds, “Thanks, most importantly, we need your prayers! God bless!”

People can bring non-perishable items such as utensils, blankets, hot drink mixes, etc., anytime before Friday. Use Facebook Messenger or call the Dream Center to make arrangements for drop-off. Hot prepared meals can be brought on Friday. Monetary donations can be brought in, or the Dream Center website has PayPal; just make sure to designate that a donation is to the warming shelter.
