Barton Community College has announced dance line scholarships for 2011-12.
The scholarship recipients are selected by Barton’s head dance coach Amanda Schnoebelen. The following students have been selected for Barton dance line scholarships:
Lacie Stalder, a 2011 graduate of Abilene High School, has danced in studio/competition dance. In high school, she also has been active in Future Business Leaders of America and Student Council. She is the daughter of Kelly and Desiree Stalder, Abilene, and plans to major in graphic design; Michelle Clifford, a 2011 graduate of Great Bend High School, has been active in Madrigal Pops Singers, A Cappella Choir, Kayettes, Future Educators of America, Pep Club, All-A Principal’s Honor Roll and Panther Dance Line as captain. She earned membership in the National Honor Society, lettered in dance line for four years and earned Dance Line Spirit Awards. She is the daughter of Kevin and Carol Clifford, Great Bend, and plans to major in psychology; Mayra Sanchez, a 2011 graduate of GBHS, has been active in dance line, folk dance, soccer, Kayettes and Spanish Club as president, and she lettered in all of those activities. She is the daughter of Arturo and Rosa Sanchez, Great Bend, and plans to major in engineering with a minor in nursing; Kaycee Chermak, a 2011 graduate of Buhler High School, has been active in FFA, Art Club, Science Club, Maroon Cru, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, Key Club and Dance Team. She is the daughter of Andy and Danette Chermak, Hutchinson, and plans to major in exercise science.
