Barton Community College’s Phi Psi chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society has named initiates for the 2012-13 academic year.
Students eligible to join the group have distinguished themselves academically by maintaining a 3.5 or higher grade point average. They must have completed at least 12 credit hours and be currently enrolled full time at Barton. Students invited to join Phi Theta Kappa were nominated by college faculty, staff and administrators.
Phi Theta Kappa is the only nationally recognized honor society for two-year colleges. It is the largest honor society in American higher education and contains approximately 2 million members and 1,200 chapters. The group currently has a presence in all 50 states as well as eight countries internationally. Barton’s Phi Theta Kappa advisers are English instructor Stephannie Goerl and technical accounting and accounting instructor coordinator Kathy Boeger.
