Northwest Kansas Technical College announcese the Class of 2011 Commencement Ceremony. Northwest Kansas Technical College hosted the annual Commencement Ceremony on May 20 at the Max Jones Field House in Goodland, The Class of 2011 is the largest Northwest Tech graduating class in years with 158 graduating students from all over the nation.
The commencement speaker was Mark Smith from Wallace County. Mark served on the Northwest Tech Area Board of Control for 30 years and he was chairman of the board for 10 of those years. He is currently a farmer and rancher in the Wallace County/Greeley County area, as well as owner/operator of the infamous Pleasant Valley Ranch located in Sharon Springs. Mark is a past member for the Board of Education for USD 200 in Tribune. He is a proud member of Kansas Live Stock Association, and is currently Past President of the association. Mark also serves on the Executive Committee of the National Cattleman’s Beef Association.
Local graduate was Gabrielle Nicole Williamson of St. John.
