Trees and flowers are blooming. Spring Break is history. Larabee Library is busy getting ready for Art Lessons Tuesday, First Fridays, and Summer Reading Program.

That is in the future. Today, I would like to thank those who make the library part of their everyday life. There are many ways in this world to get the things we offer at the library, but I like that many of you still like coming to the library to find a book, use a computer, print copies, read the paper and sit and relax in our comfy chairs. We love those that just drop in to share a moment during their bike rides or walks.

Every week we have at least one visitor from out of town come to relive favorite memories of the library. One this week was thrilled to get to see the basement for the first time ever! As a child coming in the front door, she was always scared of the dark looking basement entry and would run by as fast as she could! This week she faced her childhood fear and enjoyed seeing THE BASEMENT! Visits make our day and give us purpose! Thank You!

Our Mission Statement is based on serving our community. Part of that service is keeping our technology up to date. This week SCKLS came and installed two new computers and hardware to make our internet service faster and safer. We also rearranged the rooms to distribute the computers in a way to give more space and privacy. I hope our patrons enjoy the change.

We have had many new puzzles donated of all sizes. An exciting thing is Adam and Sandy have all the puzzles on the card catalog, which makes for easy check-out. They have the number of pieces and brief titles, if available, listed on the catalog. In the future, I will teach them how to put a picture with them. They are all nicely organized in the children’s room according to the number of pieces. Thank you donors for adding to our puzzle corner!

We are still having fun with Dr. Seuss! Come join us and make a memory with your family.

Kim’s County Line Blog this week had an excellent feature of Nora’s library renaissance of refurbishing and restoration which began in 2022. She did an excellent job of summarizing our history, present mission and future of our library with narration and pictures through the years. https://kimscountyline.blogspot.com/. Thanks Kim for the excellent coverage!

Sandy and I are looking forward to next week - it’s always  fun to see who will walk in next!
