Four people were injured Thursday night when two vehicles collided on K-96 at NW 30 Ave., 3 miles northwest of Great Bend.
Kansas Highway Patrol reports the accident occurred at 5:45 p.m. Two women from Bazine and two women from Colorado were taken to Great Bend Regional Hospital. All were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
A 2000 Chevy Traverse driven by Cathy Snelling-Kerry, 58, of Louisville, Colo., was traveling south on NW 30 Ave. and failed to yield at the yield sign entering K-96, colliding with a 2012 GMC pickup at the intersection. The Chevy entered the southwest ditch and rolled onto passenger side. The GMC, driven by Sandra K. Fehrenbach, 57, of Bazine, entered south ditch through a barbed wire fence and collided with a tree before coming to rest.
Snelling-Kerry’s passenger was Natasia C. Poinsatte, 23, of Boulder, Colo. Fehrenbach’s passenger was Leona Gumescheimer, 67, of Bazine.
The Traverse was removed by Doonan’s, and Marmie Motors towed the GMC.
