GBHS vocalists, bands headed to State Festival

The Regional Music Festival for Solos and Small Ensembles was held at Barton Community College on Saturday, April 8. Band, orchestra and vocal solos from 13 schools competed.
Great Bend band members receiving I’s were: Brass Sextet (Aaron Schultz, Alex Smith, Allison Regehr, Matthew Phillips, Andrew Curtright, Sean Williams); Brass Quintet (Alex Smith, Dylan Lamb, Daniel Abbott, Dalton Dicks, Lane Milholland); and soloists: Daniela Astrain-Favela, clarinet; Robbie Brining, alto sax; McKenna Esfeld, flute; Elizabeth Gerdes and Allen To, marimba; Allison Regehr, french horn; Andrew Curtright, euphonium; Matthew Phillips and Dalton Dicks, trombone; and Lane Milholland, tuba.
II ratings were awarded to Kaitlin Adams, clarinet; and Audrey Muth, and Brady Danie, voice.
Vocal soloists receiving I’s were: Allison Muth, Katherine Snapp, Allison Regehr, Ethan Wedel, and Annelly Valdovinos, Orchestra I’s were awarded to Dorian Lueth, Cely Hutchinson and Bayle Sandy. II’s went to Ema Millard, Nolan Barton, Tianna Farris, Alex Arnold, Dylan Sateren and Alexa Duran, and to the String Quartet (Cely Hutchinson, Ema Millard, Bayle Sandy and Tianna Farris).
Those receiving I’s will compete at the State Music Festival at Emporia High School on April 29.
Marlene Regehr was accompanist for the band and some of the orchestra soloists, and Abby Hammeke was accompanist for the other orchestra students.
