The Great Bend Middle School Bands will present their fall concert this Thursday, Nov. 1, in the gym at Great Bend Middle School. The 7th Grade Band will perform at 6:45 p.m. and the 8th Grade Band will perform at 8:15 p.m. The GBMS Jazz Ensemble will also play at both of these concerts. The concert is under the direction of Kurtis Koch, assisted by Mark DeWald.
Five Great Bend Middle School Band members have been selected to perform in the Southwest Kansas Music Educators Association Middle School Honor Band. The concert will take place in Dodge City at the Dodge City Middle School on Nov. 3. Those selected by taped audition are: Baleigh Fry-Alto Saxophone, Hadley Murphy-Alto Saxophone, Allison Regehr-French Horn, Eric Vazquez-Bass Clarinet and Emily Barrington-Flute. These band members are students of Kurtis Koch, assisted by Mark DeWald.
