Great Bend Community Theatre will hold auditions Aug. 4 and 5 for an upcoming production of an original play that has been written and also will be directed by GBCT Artistic Director Rob Munden. The play is titled “What 2 R U?”

This drama is about a counselor who has faced mental health issues of her own. These issues are due to the death of her 5-year-old son whose name is Phillip. She faces her demons head on when she begins counseling a young woman with a split personality. Her client’s alter personality happens to also be a 5-year-old child named Phillip.

The play requires three actresses. One character is in her mid-twenties and the other two characters are between the ages of 45 and 55.

Auditions will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4 and 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5 at AA40 Instruments, located at 1207 Main in Great Bend.

Show dates are September 19-22 at the Crest Theater.
