Great Bend Community Theatre season is on hold

The Great Bend City Council Monday night heard an update on the efforts to renovate the Crest Theater.

Great Bend Community Theatre’s planned production of “Making God Laugh” has been postponed for a second time because of the COVID-19 pandemic, GBCT Manager Angela Meitner said.

Auditions were scheduled in March for performances in April but the production was later postponed to Sept. 17-20. Now the show has been postponed again as health officials continue to discourage large gatherings.

“We are unsure of when we will have the production, but will as soon as it is safe to do so,” Meitner said.

GBCT has also put season ticket sales for 2020-2021 on hold until it is safe to plan the season.
