LARNED — A Great Bend man died Thursday after a car and truck collided on K-156, one mile west of Larned.

Ricky E. Perez, 47, was taken to Pawnee Valley Community Hospital.

The other driver, Loren Lane, 56, of Larned, sustained possible injury and was also taken to the hospital in Larned.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Lane was in a westbound GMC truck at 4:32 p.m. and was slowing down to make a left turn onto 130 Ave. Perez was in an eastbound Buick and collided with the truck as it turned. The car then flipped into the south ditch, landing on its top.

Perez was wearing a seat belt; Lane was not.
