HHS Debate second at Central Kansas League

HOISINGTON — The Hoisington High School debate team placed second recently at the Central Kansas League Debate Tournament held at Sterling College. The Cardinals placed second with a combined record of five wins and three loses. Lyons was first with a 7-1 record.  Halstead was third with a 4-4 record.

     Garrett Dykes and Payton Dykes, who earned third place medals, defeated two Halstead teams and a team from Lyons. They lost to the first place Lyons team.        

     Kylie Miller and Logan Hammeke defeated teams from Larned and Nickerson. They lost to a team from Halstead and a different Nickerson team.

     Victoria Luttrell, Tyler Reif, Trevan Brown, Audrie Harms, Samantha Colson, and Miquala Purscell served as alternates.
