Holy Family School in Great Bend has received the Governor’s Achievement Award, Principal Karen Moeder announced. This is the fourth time that the school has received this award.
The Governor’s Achievement Award is given to schools whose students perform very well on the state assessments in math and reading, Moeder said.
“In order to receive this award, our students in grades 3-6 who were assessed last spring scored in the top 5 percent of all schools in the state of Kansas. We are very excited and very proud of this accomplishment.” Students celebrated with a dress down day at school on Dec. 14.
“What a wonderful surprise and what a great way to start off the Christmas break!” Moeder wrote in an e-mail to parents.
