KHP requests assistance locating possible witness and information on US-56 fatality crash involving

This past Sunday, Aug. 24, the Kansas Highway Patrol investigated a collision outside of Overbrook on US-56 Highway, milepost 409, between Croco Road and Paulen Road, in Osage County. It is believed that a vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian who was walking on US-56 Highway. The collision occurred at approximately 5:05 a.m. on Sunday.
The Patrol is looking for anyone who may have been traveling on US-56 Highway the morning of Sunday, Aug. 24, between the hours of 4:30 and 5:30 a.m. In particular, the Patrol is attempting to locate a witness who was driving a semi truck and trailer eastbound on US-56 between 4:30 and 5:30 a.m. The driver is not a suspect, but may have information that could assist with the investigation.
Additionally, anyone with any information, who saw or knows what happened, Master Trooper Bryce Whelpley, the lead investigator for the collision part of the investigation, would like to speak with you.
