League of Women Voters candidate's forum

The League of Women Voter’s of Great Bend will be presenting a candidate’s forum at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the Crest Theatre on the square, downtown Great Bend. It is free of charge to the public. Candidates who have someone running in opposition will be on the forum. The candidates who will be running unopposed will introduce themselves. Rose Kelly will be the moderator of the event. All of the candidates for all of the races have been invited to attend and participate. Questions have been prepared by the League members and have not been distributed to the candidates previous to the forum. The candidates will draw their questions on the stage. No questions will be taken from the audience. You may speak to any of the candidates during the intermission or after the forum.
Voters need to be reminded that they must present proper identity documents to vote and they may be denied the right to vote if they do not have it with them or have had difficulty registering to vote.
Candidates participating in the forum will be: Running unopposed: County Commission- Don Davis 3rct district; County Attorney - Amy Schartz Mellor; Register of Deeds - Pam Wornkey; County Clerk - Donna Zimmerman; County Sheriff- Brian Bellindir; County Treasurer -James E. Jordan. Running opposed: County Commission 2nd district - Homer Kruckenberg, Hon. Hannelora Kitts, Sharon Wondra; Kansas House of Representatives- Jon Prescott, Gregg Lewis, Tory Amberger; Kansas Senate- Matt Bristow, Larry Salmons, Mary Jo Taylor
