LARNED — If you donate blood with the American Red Cross, you could win a $250 gas card.
The Larned Community Blood Drive is scheduled from noon to 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26 at the J.A. Haas Building on the Pawnee County Fairgrounds.
As an extra incentive, anyone who presents to donate blood with the Red Cross until Sept. 1, is automatically entered into a weekly drawing for a $250 gas card.
During the Labor Day weekend, Sept. 2 to Sept. 7, anyone presenting to donate blood is automatically entered into a drawing for a $1,000 gas card.
The need for blood remains constant.  In fact, levels of Type O blood are at critically low levels. If you have Type O, especially O-negative, please give blood soon.
No matter what, you’re a winner for giving blood. In about an hour, you can turn a typical summer day into an extraordinary gift for a patient in need. A single donation may help save up to three lives.  And that is no ordinary summer activity.
Call 1-800-RED CROSS or visit redcrossblood.org to schedule your donation appointment today.
All blood types are needed to ensure the Red Cross maintains an adequate blood supply. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in.
Donors must be in general good health, weigh at least 110 pounds and be at least 17 years old (16 in Kansas with completed Parental Consent Form). New height and weight restrictions apply to donors 18 and younger.
