Flag changing ceremony Monday
LARNED — The American Legion Post 106 of Larned will participate in the flag-changing ceremony starting at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Larned city pool. The 2011 city pool flag contest winners will be recognized and certificates will be awarded. The winning flag will be raised.

Fireworks show Monday
LARNED — The fireworks show sponsored by the Larned Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors will begin shortly after dark on the Fourth of July, north of the Larned Community Center.  Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. The best viewing area will be on the inside of the walking track.
The Ambassador’s Flag Lease Program provides the funds that pay for the purchase of the fireworks.

Legion schedules installation
LARNED — The American Legion Post 106 of Larned will install new officers at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 5 at the Legion Hall, 115 E. 7th Street. Seventh District Commander Clark Conaway of Salina and Carl Woods, vice-commander from Attica will attend. Courtland Holman, Larned Chamber of Commerce director, will welcome the dignitaries prior to the ceremony. Anyone is welcome to attend.
