Reception scheduled Thursday

LARNED — Pawnee Valley Medical Associates is sponsoring a reception from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday for their new physician, Dr. Christine L. Goodwin, in the Jo Brenner Room at Pawnee Valley Community Hospital, 923 Carroll in Larned. Refreshments will be served.

Humane Society Open House to be Saturday

LARNED — The Pawnee County Humane Society will sponsor an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at their new animal shelter. A 1 p.m. ribbon cutting will be followed by tours. The Pawnee County Humane Society, K-264 and West 8th Street, is north of the Larned State Hospital complex.

Dinner will benefit LHS

LARNED — The Larned Sports Boosters 2nd Annual Steak Dinner is scheduled Tuesday, Aug. 23 at Schnack Park.
Tickets must be purchased for the 7 p.m. dinner in advance from any Larned Booster Club member, at First State Bank, OPI or by calling Kristin Keith at 620-804-1170. All proceeds are donated to Larned High School athletic programs.

Hunter education set

LARNED — The Larned Recreation Commission will sponsor an Internet-assisted Hunter Eduction session Saturday, August 27. Participants must be 11 years of age to complete the course.
