City council to meet Friday

Pool to open Sunday
LARNED —The Larned city pool will open Sunday.
Free passes are available for grades six through 10 for Pawnee County students, thanks to a donation from the Larned city council.
Music from the Pawnee
LARNED — Music from the Pawnee will be the featured exhibit at the Santa Fe Trail Center Museum during the Memorial Day weekend. One of the collections displays 40 record album covers from the 1950s to the 1980s. Memorabilia from musical stars with connections to Larned are also featured along with an 1890s acoustic guitar, Comrade Smith’s violin, musical toys and old-style radios and TVs.
Admission is charged. Summer hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Trail Center is two miles west of Larned on K-156.
Garfield dinner
GARFIELD — The city of Garfield will sponsor its annual Memorial Day covered dish dinner at noon Monday at the Community Building. Freewill donations will be accepted. Anyone is welcome to attend.
Commission to meet Tuesday
LARNED – The Pawnee County Commissioner will meet starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday, due to the Memorial Day holiday.
9 a.m. — Kurt Demel, Pawnee County highway administrator, road updates.
9:45 a.m. — Don Gaeedert, Larned city manager, airport engineering contract.
11 a.m. — John Settle, county attorney.
11:30 p.m. — Carl Miller, Pawnee County appraiser.
Welcome Inn Sale
LARNED — The Welcome Inn Garage and Bake Sale is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 4.
Donations are welcome and can be left at the Welcome Inn at 113 W. 4th from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 2 and 3. No clothes, shoes or broken items will be accepted.
