Quilting Bees meet

LARNED — President Ann Hicks welcomed guests Janet Stratton, Susan Fox and Ruth Robbins to the Aug. 2 meeting of the Quilting Bees Guild.  A special guest was Sheila Scheibmeir’s grandson, newly arrived from Texas. The fat quarter drawing on the western theme was won by Lavada Kraft.
Alice Clapsaddle presented, “Get Your Pink On!” the theme for this year’s benefit to the A Healthy Choice Clinic Breast Cancer Assistance Fund. 
A workday is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 13 with the next regular meeting to be on Aug. 16.  A demonstration of the next project blocks will be given. Members tied three prayer quilts.
A dinner and purse/bag auction is scheduled at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at the First Presbyterian Church.  Merchants and groups donating a purse/bag or money for the fund will receive two complimentary tickets to the event. Recipients of the fund must be Pawnee County residents. Price of the ticket is $10.
