Meth distribution suspects arrested

Barton County Sheriff’s Office deputies discovered evidence Monday that distribution of methamphetamine was taking place at a residence in the 2000 block of Baker Ave., Sheriff Brian Bellendir said. Deputies executed a search warrant around 6 p.m. and discovered methamphetamine, scales and packaging material, according to a BCSO press release.

Upon entry into the residence, deputies discovered and detained five individuals. Two were arrested and transported to the Barton County Jail without incident. The remaining three individuals were released at the scene.

Ronald Cornell, age 62, of Ellinwood was booked on charges of possession of meth with intent to distribute and possession of paraphernalia, with bond set at $100,000.

Mark Spear, age 63, of Great Bend was arrested for possession of methamphetamine.

The case remains active and is part of an ongoing investigation.
