The Robert J. Dole Veterans Administration Mobile Medical Unit will visit Great Bend this month. It will be available starting at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Thursdays of Aug. 12 and 26 at Veterans Memorial Park on the south side near the Al Burns Memorial Baseball Field.

Veterans will need to schedule an appointment by calling the Salina VA Outpatient Clinic at 785-826-1580. When prompted, callers need to hit option two on two occasions.

Offered will be basic physical exams (like yearly exams), lab work and other services. Those wanting blood work done need to fast for 12 hours.

Patients need to bring all their medications and some form of identification, like a driver’s license or government ID card.
